A great success for LAMIERA 2023: 19,000 visits of professionals in addition to 4,000 visitors from Made in Steel

Highly positive results were achieved at the 22nd edition of LAMIERA, the international exhibition of sheet metal, tube and section cutting, forming and processing technologies, which took place at fieramilano Rho from Wednesday 10 to Saturday 13 May.

The only trade show in Italy specifically dedicated to the sheet metal field, over the years, LAMIERA has become one of the most important events in the international scenario of the sector trade fairs, also thanks to the change of venue from Bologna to Milan in 2017. On a total floor space of 40,000 square meters, the key players of the exhibition were about 400 exhibiting companies, of which 27% came from abroad, representing 22 countries.

Promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers’ association, and organised by CEU-CENTRO ESPOSIZIONI UCIMU, LAMIERA was exceptionally held just one year after the previous edition, which had been postponed for 12 months due to the public health emergency.

Therefore, in order to recover its usual positioning in the odd years, the trade show did not follow its normal biennial schedule. Nevertheless, the achieved results have been more than satisfactory, both in terms of exhibitors and of visits.

The six technological themes of LAMIERA 2023

Besides the large offering of stand-alone machines and complex industrial plants for sheet metal forming and processing , the exhibition focused on 6 technological themes that are crucial for the production of the sector today: FABBRICAFUTURA, SALDATECH, FASTENER INDUSTRY, TTS-THE WORLD OF HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS, METROLOGY & TESTING, BLECH ITALY SERVICE.

FABBRICAFUTURA
Automation, robotics and digitalization of production processes for the procurement and management of processing materials in the production line and on the machine; software and technologies for connectivity, data analysis and security, for remote assistance, predictive maintenance and for the efficiency of production and business processes.

SALDATECH
Focused on the welding field, SALDATECH has offered an overview of the wide and diversified world of welding, which is among the leading technologies for sheet metal joining. Welding machines and equipment, robots and consumables were the protagonists of the area.

FASTENER INDUSTRY
The Fastener Industry has been focused on screws, bolts, fastening and clamping systems, a sector in which Italy stands out, ranking second among manufacturers and third among consumers.

TTS-WORLD OF HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS
Machines, systems and consumables, focused on pre- and post-production treatments, for ferrous and non-ferrous materials, in order to offer a complete overview of this sector.

METROLOGY & TESTING
The issue of metrology and testing concerns technologies, products, services and solutions developed to guarantee production quality, which is today an essential element in the sector offer. Measuring instruments, testing machines, artificial vision, quality control, as well as certification services were some of the protagonists of Metrology & Testing.

BLECH ITALY SERVICE
Technical subcontracting and services for the industry of the sector were in the limelight of Blech Italy Service. In line with the evolution of the manufacturing industry that chooses more and more hybrid production models, combining manufacturing within the factory and outsourcing of some production processes, LAMIERA has proposed, within Blech Italy Service, a parallel and alternative visit tour to the “Make” for manufacturers: the “Buy” regarding the suppliers of subcontracting and services, for those who wish to purchase semi-finished products and outsourced work.
