At this exhibition, Binhua Group (hereinafter referred to as "Binhua") booth attracted many visitors. Binhua brought not only the company's traditional chlor-alkali products, but also some high-end new materials. Zhao Yongsheng, general manager of Binhua Marketing Center, accepted an exclusive interview with the weekly reporter on the company's low-carbon development, transformation of traditional industries, and layout in the field of new materials.

 

CCN: What special products did Binhua bring to this exhibition? What are the competitive advantages of the products?

Zhao Yongsheng: The special products we brought this time mainly include liquid caustic soda, flake caustic soda, propylene oxide, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, chloropropylene, epichlorohydrin, hexafluorophosphate, electronic grade hydrofluoric acid, propylene, hydrogen, polyphenylene sulfide, needle coke and other products. Our advantages are mainly: attaching importance to R&D, production, quality, and cost control, including strict quality management system, advanced production technology and equipment, and stable and reliable product performance, which can meet customers' demand for high-quality chemical products. The company emphasizes the attention and support to customers in the pre-sales, sales and after-sales stages, and attaches importance to close cooperation with customers to meet customers' personalized needs.

CCN: The fluorine-alkali industry is a traditional chemical industry. Under the current environment, the need for transformation is very urgent. As one of the leading companies in the chlor-alkali industry, how does Binhua achieve quality improvement and efficiency enhancement in the chlor-alkali business segment? What new opportunities and directions have you seen?

Zhao Yongsheng: Binhua relies on the horizontal coupling of "chlor-alkali-green electricity" and the vertical extension of "salt-chlor-alkali-new materials" to build a new green, high-end, circular economy industry ecology and create a "green smart lighthouse factory" in the chlor-alkali industry.

Under the background of the national strategy of "dual carbon" and the EU's imminent imposition of carbon tariffs in 2026, the "dual control" of energy consumption and carbon footprint certification continue to advance in depth, pointing out new directions for the chlor-alkali industry to build, extend and supplement the downstream chain. At the same time, building an industrial system featuring the coupling of chlor-alkali and new energy is also a new proposition for the current and future chlor-alkali industry to achieve the transformation and development towards low-carbonization and zero-carbonization.

CCN: In addition to chlor-alkali, Binhua's products also cover five major fields: petrochemicals, new materials, new energy, and electronic chemicals. How do you view the development trends and opportunities of the new materials and electronic chemicals industry?

Zhao Yongsheng: The new materials and electronic chemicals business bears the heavy responsibility of the company's high-end and differentiated development. It is a new business growth pole that we are focusing on cultivating. At present, in the field of new materials, Binyang's polyphenylene sulfide products are one of the six major engineering plastics. After years of optimization and improvement, the comprehensive competitiveness of the products has ranked among the top in China; in the field of electronic chemicals, the company has electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid products, and the product quality is stable at the highest level of the industry, the G5 level. In the future, we will use this as a fulcrum to develop towards product serialization and diversification.

Against the backdrop of overcapacity in the low-end and insufficient high-end capacity in the entire petrochemical industry, new materials and electronic chemicals are not only the key breakthrough points of Binhua, but also the focus of the entire industry. In the future, the new materials and electronic chemicals fields will face the situation of increased downstream demand and accelerated domestic substitution, showing new development trends such as high-end, customized, and differentiated. We will also seize this development trend, take steady steps, lead the whole from point to surface, and make self-breakthroughs to achieve industrial patriotism.

CCN: How does Binhua plan in the field of hydrogen energy?

Zhao Yongsheng: Binhua Hydrogen Energy Company relies on the advantages of by-product hydrogen resources to create hydrogen energy demonstration application scenarios in multiple fields such as hydrogen energy logistics, hydrogen refueling stations, and cogeneration; simultaneously plan and layout the high-value utilization of by-product hydrogen energy; and widely layout upstream hydrogen production equipment, midstream hydrogen production, and downstream hydrogen storage and transportation. Green hydrogen is also an important carrier of renewable energy such as wind power and photovoltaics. It has irreplaceable potential value in the process of deep decarbonization. Binhua has established in-depth cooperation with many energy companies in green hydrogen production, green ammonia and green methanol to jointly develop the green hydrogen market.

CCN: Under the background of "dual carbon", what measures does Binhua take to reduce carbon emissions?

Zhao Yongsheng: At present, Binhua Group's carbon reduction efforts are mainly focused on the following aspects: First, the construction of a source-grid-load-storage integrated project in the Beihai Park is planned and constructed, and it is committed to building a near-zero-carbon port chemical park in Binzhou Beihai; second, the new chemical base will also implement the concept of near-zero-carbon green cycle, and realize the deep coupling of "new energy + chemical industry"; third, it will make extensive layouts in new energy fields such as wind power and photovoltaics, seek low-carbon clean energy increments and green electricity rights, increase the proportion of new energy in the group's overall energy consumption, and achieve carbon emission reduction from the source; fourth, digital Binhua will lead energy conservation and consumption reduction and emission reduction and low carbon, and create a dual-carbon management system.
