In 2020, the total market sales of my country's dairy industry exceeded 400 billion yuan, and increased to 468.738 billion yuan in 2021. It is expected that the market size of the domestic dairy industry will exceed 500 billion yuan in 2023.


Dairy products are mainly liquid, powdery, and solid products made from cow's milk, goat's milk, etc. through different processing techniques, including liquid milk, milk powder, condensed milk, milk fat, and cheese. , milk ice cream, etc., among which milk dairy products account for the largest proportion.


As the main raw material for dairy products, the milk market affects the development of the entire dairy industry. With the continuous improvement of scale, standardization and modernization of domestic dairy farming, milk production efficiency has been significantly improved. Domestic milk production has increased year by year since 2017. By 2020, China's milk production will reach 34.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%.

With the rapid increase in China's milk consumption demand in recent years, milk imports The volume and import amount have also increased year by year. Judging from the distribution of imports, New Zealand, Germany and France are my country's main milk importing countries, with the total import value in 2021 accounting for about 70%.

 

The demand market for milk in China is mainly concentrated in first-tier cities in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen and economically developed second- and third-tier cities and regions. It has a certain relationship with the regional economy, population, income level and eating habits. North China, South China, Shanghai and Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions are all It is the key market area for pure milk sales in China. Yili's sales market focuses on North China and South China, Mengniu's sales market focuses on North China, and Bright Emulsion's sales market is mainly concentrated in Shanghai and the surrounding areas of Jiangsu and Zhejiang.

 

It can be seen from the rapid development of cheese, low-temperature milk and other sub-categories that increasing per capita consumption of dairy products will be the main growth point of the industry in the future.

In fact, with the arrival of consumption upgrades and the popularization of national health awareness, the demand for dairy products will continue to increase. The demand for improving immunity during the epidemic has further stimulated consumers’ preference for high-quality dairy products, which will provide a great boost to the dairy market. Injecting new development impetus, high-end, healthy and functional dairy products will become the future development direction of the industry.


Industry experts judge that with the rapid growth of dairy consumer demand in 2023, raw milk prices will remain high, dairy farming profits will increase, and the growth rate of dairy imports will decrease.
