Every two years since 1982, AMB has presented the highlights of the international metalworking industry. It focuses on products, technologies, innovations, services and concepts for people who are passionate about metalworking. This makes it a marketplace, training and networking platform all in one. Whether you are visitor or exhibitor - over the years, AMB has become one of the most important events of the industry.
Date: 10 - 14 Sep 2024
Place: Messe Stuttgart
Organiser: Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH
Regular cycle: every two years
AMB, International Exhibition for Metal Working, has become established as a top event in even years. It occupies a leading position among the exhibitions in the industry and ranks among the world’s top five events. All the world market and technology leaders come together on a total exhibition area of more than 120,000 brutto square metres to present technologies for future production. Visitors also profit, in particular, from the clear thematic hall assignment. AMB is supported by an attractive accompanying programme featuring interesting special shows. Whether you travel by air, car, rapid-transit railway or train, it is easy to reach the Stuttgart Trade Fair Center.
During AMB, Handwerk International Baden-Württemberg and the Enterprise Europe Network were organising a matchmaking platform together with Messe Stuttgart. Participating to this program was completely free of charge.
A great opportunity to exchange views on current topics and trends in 1:1 contacts with experts from the industry.
They could be held on-site or online. For the appointments at the trade fair, all you had to do was arranging a meeting point with your discussion partner and go to the respective location at the agreed time. For virtual meetings, you could log in at the agreed time.
Date: Tuesday – Friday (13 – 16 September 2022)
Time: 9:30 – 17:00 each day
Location: L-Bank Forum (Hall 1), Stand 1B50
Partners: VDMA Precision Tools and VDMA Measuring and Testing Technology
A quick overview of innovative solutions and current trends in metalworking were provided by the technical short presentations during the first four days of AMB (September 13-16, 2022) at the VDMA booth B50 in Hall 1.
44 presentations with innovative solutions from industry - incl. 12 startups - and 5 research institutes - in 15-minute slots, the speakers provided information on the latest technologies and, following their presentations, were available for discussions and talks with the participants of the Technology Forum.
The presentations in the topic area of cutting tools focused, among other things, on high-precision machining, the cutting of difficult materials, the optimization of tool set-up times and aspects of digitization. In addition to different clamping technologies, the clamping technology manufacturers were highlighting sustainability aspects when selecting the right technology and providing information on automation solutions using sensory clamping devices and zero-point clamping systems. In the field of measuring and testing technology, the topics ranged from multisensory measurement in manufacturing to optical and acoustic testing and the potential of digitization. Research companies presented the latest findings in the fields of polishing, materials for additively manufactured tools, and hybrid manufacturing of components, and startups from Startup Machine spanned the use of AI from product development to machine utilization. New technological approaches to remote service, simulation, machine selection and quality control were addressed here, as will intelligent algorithms for optimizing manufacturing processes.
